Garfield County Jail Mugshots
The Garfield County public roster is the sheriff's current inmates PDF. It is useful for custody status, booking dates, charge descriptions, bond or release fields, custody days, and booking numbers. It is not a mugshot gallery. The roster inspection did not show a mugshot or photo field in the extracted public PDF text, and no official recent-booking photo gallery was located in the sheriff sources.
That difference matters. A person may appear in the Garfield County jail roster without a public photo beside the entry. The roster can help confirm the booking number and custody details needed for a records request, but the booking photo itself is requested through the Sheriff's Records Division when it is releasable. Adult booking photos have a local fee, while juvenile photos are restricted unless the juvenile has been charged as an adult and court proof is provided.
Find Garfield County Booking Photos
Start with the custody record, then decide whether a photo request is needed. The related Garfield County inmate records path gives the full roster workflow when the goal is custody status, charges, booking date, or release status. Booking photos require a more formal records step because the public roster PDF is not built as a photo viewer.
- Open the Garfield County current inmates PDF from the sheriff site.
- Use PDF find to search the person's last name, first name variant, or booking number if known.
- Confirm the entry using age, gender, booking date, charge text, bond or release field, and booking number.
- If a photo is needed, open the sheriff's Request for Records form and select the booking photo option.
- Include enough identifying detail, such as report number, incident date, names, dates of birth if known, and contact information.
- Sign the form, include a copy of the required ID, choose a response method, and submit it to the Records Division.
- Pay the required charge after releasability and cost are reviewed by records staff.
Phone confirmation can help before filing a request. Jail and Booking can be reached at (970) 945-1377 ext. 1034, and booking/general information uses ext. 1033. Records requests go through the Records Division rather than the jail's live custody line.
Garfield County Mugshot Record Fields
The public roster field inventory is still useful for a photo request because it helps match the person to the correct booking event. Garfield County inmate records are narrow in the PDF. The entry gives a custody snapshot, while the booking photo is handled through sheriff records if released. Do not treat the roster as a full booking file or as proof of the final court result.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking Photo | No photo field was observed in the public roster PDF. Adult arrest photos can be requested from records if releasable. |
| Name | Roster display name, often last-name first. |
| Age | Age shown with the roster entry. |
| Gender | Male or female value observed in the PDF. |
| Booking Date | Date booked into Garfield County Jail. |
| Charges | Charge descriptions tied to booking or custody, not final court dispositions. |
| Bond Amount or Release Date | Dollar amount, future release date, or open status as displayed. |
| Booking # | Booking event number that can help records staff locate the correct record. |
Physical description details such as height, weight, eye color, hair color, race, full date of birth, housing location, and arresting agency were not observed in the public PDF inventory. Court case numbers also were not shown. For filed charges or later outcomes, use Garfield County court records after jail arrest.
Garfield County Mugshot Law
Colorado treats criminal justice records differently from ordinary public records. Garfield County's own records form quotes the criminal justice record certification language and adds a booking-photo certification. The local rule is practical: adult arrest photos may be purchased if releasable, but the requestor must certify lawful use, and juvenile arrest photos are not released unless the juvenile has been charged as an adult and court documentation is supplied.
Key Statutes:
C.R.S. 24-72-305.5 appears on the Garfield County records form and requires certification that criminal justice records and booking photos will not be used for direct business solicitation or paid-removal mugshot publication.
C.R.S. 24-72-309 appears on the same form with penalty language for willful or knowing violations of Colorado criminal justice record provisions.
The Garfield County Sheriff's Records Division page is the official source for booking-photo fee, ID, request methods, response timing, and release limits.
The records page connects mugshots to the same release review used for sheriff reports, booking sheets, and other criminal justice records.
What Garfield County Releases
Garfield County's Records Division states that copies of sheriff reports may include booking photos and that adult arrest photos cost $1.25 per photo when purchased. The records page also states that a signed request form and a photocopy of the requestor's license or ID card are required. Payment must be received before records are released, and records staff review releasability before giving the total cost or releasing the document.
What is and isn't public: The public PDF is a custody roster, not a mugshot gallery. Adult booking photos are requestable if releasable; juvenile photos are withheld unless the juvenile was charged as an adult and court proof is supplied.
Records staff may also direct a requestor to the District Attorney's Office for discovery or to the court for disposition or conviction records when a sheriff report cannot be released. A booking photo request does not create a right to sealed, juvenile, nonreleasable, or court-controlled material.

The form includes checkboxes for booking photo and booking sheet.

Juvenile Garfield County Mugshots
Juvenile booking photos have a stricter rule in the Garfield County records materials. The sheriff records page says juvenile arrest photos cannot be released unless the juvenile has been charged as an adult. When that exception applies, the applicant must provide documentation from the courts showing that the juvenile was charged as an adult. Without that court proof, do not expect records staff to release a juvenile photo.
This limit is separate from whether a custody event occurred. A juvenile matter may be real but still not public in the same way as an adult jail booking. The public roster inspection also did not identify a general photo display field, so a missing public photo should not be read as proof that no booking, hold, or court event exists.
Note: Call records staff before submitting a juvenile-related request if the adult-charge court documentation is unclear.
Mugshot Removal and Sealed Records
Garfield County records materials focus on release rules and requestor certification, not on a public removal form for photos already released. The records form's C.R.S. 24-72-305.5 certification is aimed at misuse, including posting a booking photo in a publication or on a website that requires payment or something of value for removal. That is a legal restriction on use, not an endorsement of any private photo site.
When the underlying criminal case is dismissed, sealed, expunged, or otherwise restricted, the records-clearing path runs through the court record and the agency that holds the record. Commercial mugshot sites should not be used as the source for Garfield County jail mugshots, and no commercial photo site is needed to request an official booking photo from the sheriff. Court status should be checked through the Colorado Judicial Branch or Garfield County court records, because a stale custody entry does not show the final outcome.
State and Federal Mugshots
State prison and federal custody use different systems from Garfield County Jail. If a person has been sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections or is held at Rifle Correctional Center, search the CDOC Offender Search rather than the county jail roster. Rifle Correctional Center is in Garfield County, but it is a state prison, not a sheriff jail facility.
Federal and immigration tools are also different. The Federal BOP Inmate Locator is for federal inmates from 1982 to present, and the ICE Online Detainee Locator System is a custody locator for ICE detainees and certain CBP custody records. Those systems are not public Garfield County booking-photo galleries, and federal mugshots generally are not published through the public inmate locator path.
